Principal’s Message

mrs-alceeThe Riviere Doree Anglican Combined School Welcomes You
As we begin the 2016-2017 academic year, I want to extend a very warm welcome to you and your family to the Riviere Doree Anglican Combined School.  If you are new to the Riviere Doree Anglican family, you have just entered a very special school.  It is a school that promotes the holistic development of all students in a safe, friendly environment.

I am indeed honoured and humbled to be the acting principal of this school and thrilled to be part of such an outstanding team. At the Riviere Doree Anglican Combined School, we strive for continued excellence. The staff is dedicated to the development of every student, as we are of the view that every child can learn.  We are privileged to be given the opportunity to touch the hearts and lives of those 97 students entrusted into our care.

In addition to the core curriculum, the school offers instructions in French, Music, Physical Education as well as the co-curricular areas like Agriculture, Netball, Spanish, Indoor Games, Cooking and Theatre Arts.  Students also have the opportunity to become members of the choir.  There is also the Spiritual aspect of education where students participate in our weekly Wednesday Church Service.

Students, our goal is to prepare you for the demands of the real world so that you may become productive citizens, future leaders and contribute or give back something positive to your community and country.
Parents/ Guardians you are always welcome to our school.  I continue to urge you to find some time off your busy schedule to visit your child’s class or support an activity. Remember that we are partners in providing our children with meaningful educational experiences. To those of you who have volunteered to be members of the PTA Executive, I say “hats off” to you as this is a step closer in ensuring that we work together.

At this point I wish to thank all stakeholders who supported us for the past school year.  Special mention must be made of The St John’s Fellowship, an organization from the United Kingdom for providing the funding for the recently constructed fence.  Wilrock Ltd also needs to be acknowledged for their contribution towards the project. We look forward to the continued collaboration with all stakeholders and we welcome those persons/ organizations will to partner with us.

As the Acting Principal, I believe that the onus is on me to maintain and continue to build a supportive and collaborative spirit at our school. Together we will build on the traditions of the past and meet the challenges of the future in innovative and exciting ways.
Please feel free to contact us at the school anytime to share an idea, offer words of support or in any other way.
Once again, welcome to Riviere Doree Anglican Combined School where Hard Work Leads to Success.

Secodina Alcee
Acting Principal
